I was walking in the Louisiana woods on a warm summer day, short pants, no shirt, no hat, barefooted, which was my usual attire the entire summer. I recall my first day in school, in the 1st Grade, when they took a school picture and there I am, standing barefooted (bottom left). One other boy besides me was barefooted. The other 20 or so kids wore shoes.
I often roamed the woods. It was my favorite thing to do. I lived in a house where the woods started 100 feet behind it and ran for miles. I’d go into the woods and be out there the entire day, only coming home when it got dark. This was another day of roaming, but I went in a different section of the woods this time, one I’d not gone into before. I heard a noise ahead and soon discovered the source. It was a beautiful white horse with some black splothes on it here and there. I guess you’d call it a “Paint.”
That was exciting for a 9 year old kid who loved pretending he was Tarzan. I crept up quietly as the horse stood grazing on the lush grass all around. I suspected the horse belonged to our neighbor, Mr. Short. The horse did not appear startled at my presence. I walked slowly towards it and it kept munching on the grass, stopping once to gaze at me. My goal was to pet it on the nose. I was about 45 degrees off its hind quarter, about ten feet and it stopped eating and looked at me. I came a little closer and suddenly, without warning, that horse exploded into action. It whirled and lashed out with its right hind leg and only God could have given me the instinct and speed to move my head to the left. The hoof hit me on the head instead of the temple because of my move. I went tumbling backwards and lay there a whole minute, too dazed to be afraid or to even run. I saw the horse who’d continued grazing, as though nothing had happened.
A year later, I’d find a way to actually ride that horse. It took a sneak attack. I crawled into a tree where the horse wandered now and then. I slipped gently down onto his back and well, the “fun” began. But, that’s another story.
I never forgot being kicked in the head. And today, as an uh...older person, it has more significance to me than it did then. All I learned then was to never approach a strange horse from anywhere near the back end, and to always be cautious. That story has far more lessons in it today, though.
A Beast Called World War
America is approaching a very dangerous beast. It has more heads than the horse that kicked me and its hinder parts are much more deadly. The beast has already mauled and killed and shown itself to be a deadly foe. The moves of this beast are predictable only in that it will try and do as much harm to an enemy as it can. How it will move and when are not so predictable.
Calculating all the “if this, then this” lines of action requires the mind of an AI trained by some superior tacticians and “think tank” types. An old man with serious memory lapses is not going to be sufficient. And, men and women in the Oval Office with no military experience and no war experience will not even be able to weigh the options correctly. There needs to be some serious-minded, experienced people who can correctly think through all the possible scenarios, weigh the potential outcomes, balance all the various alliances and powers, evaluate the economic impact on America and the world, and then make decisions.
That has not happened so far. At this point in time, our current government has managed to alienate Saudi Arabia and drive them into the camp of nations who now count us as enemies. America has managed to fund a war against Russia and drive them into coalitions that have unthinkable consequences. America has managed to splinter too many relationships, including most of South America.
Biden is Looking for a Way Out
Now, America finds itself in a quandary. If it helps Israel, its only democratic ally in the Middle East and a declared “friend,” then it risks a war with an array of Arab states and even Russia (and China, which would of course, enter the war as an ally of Russia). If it stands down and does nothing, then Israel is left to face the wrath of an array of Islamic states and perhaps even Russia, who would then perhaps feel it could enter the war without engaging in a war with America.
At this point, America, via Joe Biden, has openly stated that it supports Israel and has sent its military to that place to show its support. However, Biden has quietly declared to Israel that it cannot do certain things, including entering Lebanon. He has also caused confusion in the Israeli government because of his insistence that Israel not enter Gaza as Israel has announced it intends to do.
Israel is Looking for a Way in
The state of Israel has a mindset that it is in a war to the death, that it intends not to merely punish Hamas, but to remove its existence as a threat from its borders, forever. Israel’s mindset is that it is fighting for existence. It wants to preemptively hit Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran. They know that this is the best opportunity they have ever had to deliver knockout blows to their enemies.
The American-Biden mindset is “let’s see if we can get the hostages freed....” The Israeli government knows that the Biden administration is not able to bargain efficiently. They’ve seen how willing he is to accept any terms in order to be able to declare that he was able to free a prisoner. So naturally, the Israeli government is very concerned. They are seeing their war efforts once more being directed by a foreign government. In this case however, they are asking themselves whether or not they can afford to bend to the pressure of America. The huge question that is being discussed in heated exchanges within the Israeli government command center is: How far can we go in our goal of elimination of our enemies?.
It is a serious quandary for Israel. If they accept Biden’s demands, they risk having to undergo another serious, perhaps more deadly attack at some point in the future. If they ignore them, they risk facing a multi-headed beast that has more lethality in its various limbs than Israel can counter. They can only hope the decision is taken out of their hands by the moves of their enemies (which is looking more and more like it may very well happen).
They can bide their time, waiting for an open invitation from their enemies. Or, they can risk standing down from invading Gaza and getting screwed by a deal worked out by the Bidenites that gets America off the hook from a war, but puts Israel back under the missiles of Hamas and Hezbollah. And of course, they can choose to approach closer to the beast and risk getting kicked in the head.
Having been kicked in the head once, I’d be leery unless it’s done right.
Hopefully, Israel will learn how to ride the beast.

Fascinating how God read the minds of Israel’s enemies over a thousand years ago. These words mirror the words and mindset of Iran, et al. perfectly. I think I’d be worried after reading these words. I’d be asking questions, one being: Am I on the right side of this? Is there something I’m missing here? "Against Thy people they take crafty counsel, And consult against Thy hidden ones. (4) They have said, 'Come, And we cut them off from being a nation, And the name of Israel is not remembered any more" (Psa 83:3-4).
